Golden Rules of Measuring 

Measure the Furthest Extremities: Always measure across the widest, deepest, and highest points (including armrest curves, outer leg bases, or reclining mechanisms). 

• Work in Centimetres: The calculator uses cm, so write down your numbers in centimetres from the start. 
• Allow Ground Clearance: Covers should not drag on the ground; a small gap promotes airflow beneath the tarp and prevents mould build up .

How to Measure by Furniture Type 

Sofas, Lounge Chairs & Benches 

• Length (L): Measure left to right across the longest outer point, including arms or leg base. 
• Width / Depth (W/D): Measure straight from the back edge to the furthest front point. 
• Height (H): Measure vertically from the ground to the absolute highest point on the backrest. 

Outdoor Dining Sets (Rectangular vs. Round) 

• Rectangular Sets: Push all chairs in tightly. Measure overall Length and Width from chair-back to chair-back. Measure Height from the floor to the top of the highest chair back. 
• Round Sets: Tuck chairs underneath. Measure Diameter straight across the centre from chair-back to chair-back, and Height from the ground to the top of the chairs. 

L-Shaped & Corner Modular Lounges 

Note: ARK Tarps uses fixed orientation for L-shape lounge covers: 

• Length (L): Stand facing the lounge—this is your left side (measured from the corner to the furthest left end). 
• Width (W): Stand facing the lounge—this is your right side (measured from the corner to the furthest right end). 
• Maximum Depth: Measure both sections from backrest to front edge and use the larger depth figure. 
• Height (H): Floor to the top of the highest cushion/backrest point.
