How to Choose the Right Size Caravan Tarp
Choosing the correct caravan cover tarp size starts with accurate measurements. Our covers are flat tarps, not fitted or elasticated caravan covers, so sizing depends on the level of coverage you prefer.
Step 1: How to Measure Your Caravan for a Cover
Measure:
- Length: Front of caravan (excluding drawbar) to rear
- Width: Widest point, including handles or protrusions
- Height: From base (excluding wheels) to highest fixed point (AC unit, solar panels, vents)
Step 2: Select Your Coverage Type
Full Ground-to-Ground Coverage (Maximum Protection)
Caravan Tarp Size Formula:
Tarp Length = Height + Length + Height
Tarp Width = Height + Width + Height
This allows the waterproof caravan tarp to drop near ground level on both sides. Depending on your measurements, there may also be additional material available to tuck underneath the caravan for extra protection if desired.
Roof & Partial Side Coverage
Caravan Tarp Size Formula:
Tarp Length = Length + Height
Tarp Width = Width + Height
This covers the roof and sides but does not extend fully to the ground.
Important Installation Tips
- Our caravan covers are flat tarps, not custom-shaped covers.
- Always rope across the top and around the perimeter to prevent your tarp turning into a parachute!
- Proper tensioning prevents wind uplift and flapping which extends tarp life.
- If suspending the tarp, ensure it is properly supported to avoid wind uplift.

Is it a good idea to put a cover over your caravan?
- Absolutely! A good caravan cover offers necessary protection from extreme weather conditions as well as dust and damage from tree sap and bird droppings. Your caravan therefore remains in excellent condition for extended periods because the tarp protects against fading and cracking while shielding it from water damage.
Are RV covers also a good idea?
- Yes! RV covers serve to shield your vehicle from UV rays and environmental elements like rain and dirt. These covers decrease damage to seals and paintwork which makes them an excellent choice for maintaining your vehicle over time.
Do caravan covers cause condensation?
- Our tarps are 100% waterproof, meaning they are not breathable. To prevent moisture buildup underneath the tarp, it’s important to allow for air circulation. You can either remove the tarp occasionally to let the air flow or leave a few centimeters exposed underneath for ventilation. If you wrap your caravan too tightly with our tarps and don’t allow any air circulation, moisture could accumulate, potentially leading to mold growth.
Is it OK to walk on a caravan roof?
- The weight capacity of caravans to hold objects on their roof varies between different models. Before walking on it, always refer to your manufacturer’s guidelines and consider using boards to spread weight evenly as needed.
How long can I leave my caravan covered?

Stay away from strong chemicals or abrasives as they can potentially harm the material. If you maintain your tarps properly they will provide optimal performance for many years to come.
How should I store my caravan cover when not in use?
- Simply fold your tarp and store it away from sharp objects. The best part about our tarps is that you don’t have to worry about sun exposure, drying it out, or mold growth. Just fold it up and store it – it’s that easy!”

How strong are your eyelets?

How do your products stand against the sun?
- We are so confident on our product performance that we offer you a 3 Year Warranty against any UV degradation. Our products love the sun! and once again, we back our claims with testing.
