What is XF Film, exactly? It’s our unique secret ingredient!
In simple terms, XF Film is a special type of material that is lightweight, flexible, and incredibly strong. But how can it possess all these qualities simultaneously?
A fitting analogy would be Lycra, which is lightweight, elastic, and durable. When you stretch your leggings or Lycra tops, they flex and evenly distribute the applied force throughout the fabric. In the same way, XF Film, can stretch and disperse force when pressure is applied. The key point is that it’s not just any material; it’s a highly specialized material designed for this exceptional performance.
How do you make it?
It consists of unique layers of material interconnected in a criss-cross design.
Let us explain further so you can appreciate the craftsmanship that sets our tarps and covers apart from anything else on the market:
1. Melting the Magic
We start by melting high-quality blend of different materials (yes there are more than 1 kind) into a molten state, think of it as crafting the perfect batter before making the cake!
2. Sun-Proof Armour
While the film is still in its molten form, we mix in UV inhibitors and colours. This step ensures XF Film is ready to battle the harshest sunlight and look good doing it!
3. Stretch It Out
The molten mixture is shaped into thin, even sheets, creating a smooth and sturdy base layer.
4. Criss-Cross Power-Up
Now, here’s the game-changer: we layer these sheets in a criss-cross pattern. This gives XF Film its unbeatable strength and tear resistance.
5. Super Bonding
The criss-crossed layers are fused together using advanced heat sealing and pressure technology, ensuring the film is seamless, durable, and ready for action.
6. Rigorous Testing
Finally, every roll undergoes strict quality checks. If it doesn’t meet our high standards, it doesn’t leave the factory. Simple as that.
SO…..What’s so special about it?
More than just a couple of things that make it special!
- If you have used tarps before you would know that after some time the sun starts to eat them up and they start to fray leaving bits of material everywhere. Well with XF Film, you won’t have this problem!
- When we melt the material to make the film, that material is inherently waterproof, so XF Film is essentially born waterproof and will keep anything under it bone dry.
- Lightweight, flexible & tough! Because of the criss cross layers and since we use a blend of plastic material, we don’t have to make our tarps very heavy to get strength. Giving you a product that is lightweight but tough.
- You can cut it without worrying about it unravelling or fraying. If a hole forms, it won’t continue to expand or tear, and its versatility is remarkable.
